Check Festival Merchandise Sizing Before the Stand Closes

The queue is moving, the next set is starting and a shirt marked “medium” looks about right. Once the festival ends, exchanging it may be much harder than it would have been at the stand. A short fit check is worth making before the purchase.

Ask about the garment, not just the size name

Different blanks and cuts can use the same size label. Ask whether the seller has measurements or a sample you may inspect. Compare width, length and sleeve shape with a shirt you already like, if you have those measurements available.

Check whether the display sample is the same style and fabric as the packaged item. A fitted cut, oversized cut and standard cut should not be treated as identical simply because all three carry the same event artwork.

Read the care details while you can still ask

Look at the fibre and care label, including any instructions relevant to the print. Do not buy a size on the assumption that washing will shrink or stretch it into the right fit. The effect depends on the actual garment and care conditions.

Ask about exchanges, proof of purchase and whether support remains available after the event. Keep the receipt and the seller’s verified contact details where appropriate. A festival’s general information desk may not operate the merchandise business itself.

Before walking away, inspect the correct size and design, obvious seams and print condition without obstructing the queue. If an item is defective, raise the issue promptly with the seller. Local consumer rights and the seller’s policy may apply; avoid assuming that every event uses the same arrangement.

Finally, protect the purchase from rain, spilled drinks and the crush of a full bag. A festival shirt can be a pleasant reminder of a live set, but it should also be a garment you can comfortably wear. The small checks at the stand help it become both.
